Forthcoming Events at the tearoom

May 2009

23rd, 24th, 25th May - The 2nd Annual Harts Barn Stone Carving Festival

Attracting hundreds of visitors last year and raising nearly £3000 for local charities, this festival celebrates the skill and creativity of stone carvers and masons from the UK, Europe and Canada. Charities being supported this year are the Longhope Church Restoration Fund, and The Cobalt Campaign.

During this year\\\'s festival, the tearoom will be serving traditional strawberry cream teas, using fresh, local strawberries, homemade clotted cream, and oven warm scones with a pot of tea of your choice from our tea menu.

Extensive tea menu

If you love your teas, or just discovering the different tastes available, come along to the tearoom and try the new loose-leaf teas on offer. Our house tea is blended by \"blendsforfriends.com\" exclusively for selected outlets in Gloucestershire. \"Gloucestershire Tea\" has a warm, welcoming character, natural features and plenty of heritage - a clolourful combination that is the perfect aid to rest and relaxation after a long walk in the Forest or cultural adventure!

For our full range of teas, please go to Old Dairy Tearoom for details

To serve our teas, we use T-Sacs.These are non-chlorinated open-ended teabags in which we put the loose leaf tea of your choice; once in water, they self-seal to prevent the leaves escaping into your pot. The t-sacs are available to buy in packs of 100. All our teas and coffee are available to buy.
Retail packs start at £2.

Superior Coffee
Our coffee is ground and roasted for us by James Gourmet Coffee at Ross-on-Wye. Our house blend is a combination of 100% arabica beans from 9 different coffee plantations across Africa & South America.

It is a great espresso bursting with flavour: traditional monsooned India Malabar as the carrier, co-operative Sumatran for depth, sundried Ethiopian for a lingering, chocolatey, earthy finish and the famous award winning
Waterfall Farm Cachoeira Bourbon from Brazil for sweetness. Enjoy it as a straight up espresso, frothy cappuccino, or milky smooth latte. We serve coffees with whole milk as standard, but semi-skimmed, skimmed and soya alternatives are available.
Our dairy milk comes from Pedigree Jersey cows in Abergavenny.

Food Menu
A Daily Specials lunch board serves up substantial fayre all day alongside our regular menu of homemade soups and traditional sandwiches, jacket potatoes and speciality sandwiches. Our specialities are afternoon and cream teas. Large scones, organic and homemade jams, homemade cakes and freshly made farmhouse sandwiches feature to make our afternoon teas something to remember.

A gluten-and-dairy-free cake is always available on the menu (as long as we have not sold out before we get chance to bake another!). We are also able to offer soya alternatives to milk and butter. If you have any other dietary requirements, please feel free to call or email us before planning a special trip to the tearoom so we can make sure there is something suitable on the menu for you.

The tearoom is not licenced, however you are welcome to bring your own wine. If you are booking a table, please let us know at the time of booking if there are any special dietary requirements

All of our produce is sourced locally and is seasonal where possible. We pride ourselves on offering excellent quality and service within the beautiful and tranquil setting of the Forest.

As well as seating in the tearoom, we offer a secluded tea garden to the rear which makes the best of the afternoon sun. The first floor loft conversion is ideal for meetings, breakfast meetings and functions, and is also available for private dining and celebrations.

Sunday lunch is served from 12pm every Sunday; booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. Please call the tearoom on the number below to book your table.
